NBB's annual Spring Showcase is the end-of-the-year production for the entire school (ages 2 & up)  to participate in and enjoy,

Everyone is asking “Who is that girl in the window?”  Find out by attending the New Bern Ballet performance of “Coppelia” at the Grover C Fields auditorium on June 18th.  This lively ballet tells the story of the comical adventures of Swanilda and Franz, who are planning to be married, and Dr. Coppelius, the lonely and eccentric toymaker.  The people of the village are celebrating the upcoming wedding with lively folk dances but Swanilda’s happiness is threatened when Franz becomes infatuated with the beautiful girl in the window of Dr. Coppelius’ house.  After failing to befriend her mysterious rival, Swanilda and her friends are determined to find out who the girl is so they break into the toymaker’s shop.   Mayhem ensues when Franz also decides to sneak in and they are all caught by Dr. Coppelius.  After the friends escape from their harrowing escapade, the young lovers are reunited and their wedding is celebrated during the Harvest Festival with feasting, dancing, and the blessing of the new village bell.  With magic and mystery abounding amid the quaint village stage set, the New Bern Ballet dancers whirl across the floor in their colorful costumes presenting a performance that is sure to be a delight for all.
